Meet Mary Pitts, one of our Customer Service Representatives at our GWS-Tennessee facility in Nashville, TN. With over 35 years of experience in the machine tool industry, Mary has been an invaluable part of the team since 2014.

Mary’s career first began at another machine tool company in Nashville, where she spent 25 years on their customer service team. During her time there, she worked with large-scale customers and complex projects, gaining extensive knowledge about the cutting tool and manufacturing business. When that company closed its customer service department, Mary quickly found a new opportunity with Peterson Tool Company, now GWS Tool Group, just 20 miles down the road.

Mary is passionate about customer service, and is dedicated to making a difference for our customers. She enjoys working with those on her team every day, and strives to provide the best experience to each customer. She also enjoys that she gets to work with both customers and other departments internally. In her role today, Mary is responsible for processing customer orders, coordinating with the purchasing team to secure the right materials and pricing, collaborating with the engineering team to confirm tool specifications, and working with the production team to meet customer deadlines.

Throughout her career, Mary has been able to work with every kind of customer, but she has also been there to save the day for so many customers. She is proud of the relationships she has built with several customers, and knows customers can count on her and GWS Tool Group to get orders out on time, or even beat tight deadlines. Not only has Mary made a huge impact on her team and with our customers, but Mary’s drive for personal growth led her to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing by taking night classes while working full-time. She is grateful for the opportunities GWS provides and appreciates the continuous growth available within the company.

LIFE OUTSIDE OF GWS

Outside of work, Mary leads a quiet life in a small town 50 miles outside of Nashville. She lives with her three dogs – Luke, Chap, and Henrietta.

Mary loves to garden – mainly growing flowers, with geraniums being her favorite, along with vegetables like tomatoes and cayenne peppers. On weekends, she shops at her neighborhood’s local Amish farmer’s markets buying produce, baked goods, and other items she finds! Mary also has a unique antique rooster collection, mostly ceramic, with one special piece made from glass marbles by her cousin.
