Meet Gary Cieslik, our Senior Quoting and Tooling Engineer at our GWS-WI facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Gary has been at this location since 1990 when it was previously known as CTMI or Carbide Tools Manufacturing Inc.

After Gary graduated from college in 1989 with a business degree, he spent a few months working in lawn care, figuring out what he wanted to do. When his friend told him about the place he was working at, Gary was immediately interested in going into the manufacturing sector. He started with CTMI as an Outside Sales representative and has since worked in Inside Sales, Marketing, Quality, and on the Customer Service team. 

With Gary’s many years of experience in the manufacturing industry, he has the opportunity to grow his cutting tool knowledge in many different areas. He’s always willing to pitch in and help, no matter the department that may need it. As someone who’s held many different roles, and is still currently involved in an array of duties, Gary says that he is proud of his longevity in manufacturing – that he worked his way up through the company. Over the years, Gary has been able to have great interactions with different customers and had the opportunity to build many relationships.

Gary continues to find motivation in the variety of work he finds himself doing each day. He loves a good challenge, and working at GWS Tool Group allows him to work on applications that require both standard and custom cutting tool solutions. Each day, he is faced with a new problem and genuinely looks forward to finding the best solution. Above all, Gary is proud to be starting his 33rd year working with cutting tools. He sees GWS as having the feeling of a small business with a close-knit team, while still being part of a larger group of facilities throughout North America.

Life Outside Of GWS

Family is important to Gary, both inside and outside of work. He tries to spend as much time as possible with his wife, dog Gracie (his pride and joy as he says), and their two sons. Outside of GWS-WI, Gary stays plenty busy. He is in a bowling league during the winter, travels to Anna Maria Island, Florida, every spring, and plays golf in the summer. If you can’t find Gary at work, busy with one of his hobbies, or traveling you should check your nearest local entertainment venue. You’ll find Gary either listening to a live band or being the entertainment himself with karaoke! Gary also really enjoys cooking, specifically, sous vide or grilling. He is always looking for new and exciting recipes to make, and sometimes won’t make the same recipe again for 3 years!
