What’s It For?

This tool is specifically made for cutting titanium jet engine parts at a southern based turbine blade manufacturer.

What’s Cool About It?

This tool is able to achieve the job of three tools in just one single tool. A proprietary GWS PVD nano-coating is applied at the end, with specific application for Ti-6Al4V.

Why Custom?

Eliminates multiple tools and complex toolpath programs. Linear toolpath is all that is needed to mill the shape within a .001″ form tolerance. In addition to the minimization of complexity to setup and programming, cycle times were vastly improved and scrap rates for a very expensive part were greatly reduced.
